He's won five of his last six overall with his only poor outing coming in the Belmont Stakes (G1) June 10. Three-year-old will be tough to beat with his 'A' game.
2nd pick: #8 (Governor Malibu) (7-2) - Colt has had a fine career and has had some tough trips or he may have much more than $645K. On the sidelines for the past two months, he chased and held down the place spot to 'Diversify' in a $100K race at this distance Aug. 21 at Saratoga. That runner went on to win the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) here two weeks ago. Very dangerous today.
3rd pick: #4 (Control Group) (9-2) - One of three entered by trainer Rudy Rodriguez and they all race as separate betting interests. Speedy sort has won four of his last six starts and is a perfect 2 for at this distance. He'll take them as far as he can.
4th pick: #2 (Becker's Galaxy) (15-1) - Another of the Rodriguez trio, longshot was re-claimed by the trainer for the same price tag ($40,000) that he lost him for. Veteran gelding has a good local record 7-2-2-1 and is capable of getting a share at a big price.
