He won this stakes by a 'nose' a year ago and grey gelding likes this longer distance 8-2-4-1. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #7 (Tribalist) (2-1) - Lightly-raced and speedy, 6-year-old has gone 5-3-2-0 on the grass and enters off a 'neck' loss here in a G3 stakes at this distance Sept. 29. He was a 1/2 length in front of 'Richard's Boy' at Del Mar Aug. 18 and is an obvious win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (California Diamond) (10-1) - Barn mate of 'Richard's Boy' has a fine record on the dirt but is making only his second start on the grass. Three-year-old is capable of getting a minor award at a big price.
4th pick: #4 (El Tovar) (15-1) - Consistent facing weaker, all four career wins have come here at this distance. Stretch runner should get a slice of this but would need a career best to beat either of the top two picks.
