2nd pick: #11 (Mango M) (3-1) - Son of 'Tale of the Cat' had a fine debut when finishing third, only a 1/2 length behind 'Honor Up' Aug. 28 at Saratoga. He made a strong middle move before weakening in the final furlong. In a good second out barn of Shug McGaughey (20%), this $250K purchase is a strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (We Should Talk) (12-1) - Debuting colt ships up from Laurel for the crafty barn of Horacio DePaz (30% first out). Prepared at his home base of Laurel, colt trained at Saratoga but did not start. $65K purchase had a near bullet half-mile in Maryland Sept. 4 and is dangerous at a big price if ready.
4th pick: #5 (Smokin Platinum) (5-1) - Grey colt just missed in a very strong debut July 28 at Saratoga. Sent into a $200K stakes there Aug. 25, he raced both greenly and evenly while never involved. Working fast since and he's a threat as he's back in with maidens.
