Speedy 5-year-old is nicely spotted and he finished second here in late Sept. at this trip when still a maiden.
2nd pick: #6 (Bartleby) (9-2) - Gelding looked like a winner here at this level going 8.5 furlongs May 10 but he 'hung' a bit in the final 1/16th to finish third beaten 1.5 lengths. He'll need to rally from well back today but think he's set for a big effort.
3rd pick: #5 (Major Force) (5-2) - Lightly-raced 4-year-old rallied while wide to finish fourth here May 10 going 8.5 furlongs. $475,000 purchase was a 1/2 length behind 'Bartleby' that afternoon and is shortening up in distance while adding blinkers. Dangerous today.
4th pick: #8 (River Knight) (12-1) - Veteran speed-ball is dropping in class while shortening up a furlong. The only other speed type entered is 'Charnley River' and that gives this longshot a chance at picking up a piece of this at a big price.
