He was an easy winner going 8.5 furlongs for a $30K tag Feb. 8 at Oaklawn Park and has been working fast locally for his come-backer.
2nd pick: #4 (Proud Zip) (7-2) - Speed/stalker stretches out to a mile after finishing a pace-setting third here going 6.5 furlongs for a $25K tag April 21. It was his his first start in 11 months and he's beaten tougher foes in the past. Five-year-old ships from Saratoga where he breezed a bullet half-mile on the training track May 29.
3rd pick: #7 (Hatteras Bound) (4-1) - Speedy sort ships back from Laurel where he missed by a 'neck' May 10 going 8.5 furlongs for a $16,000 claiming price. In shape and his outside post will give jockey Jose Ortiz some early options.
4th pick: #5 (Kenyan) (8-1) - One-run type has been searching for his third win for a very long time. Five-year-old by 'Curlin' should get a fast and/or contested pace to rally into, but he needs to do better for anything more than a minor award.
