It was his first off a claim by Orlando Noda and first ever on the turf. Back on the dirt, he's gone 4-1-2-0 at this trip and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #5 (Dr Devera's Way) (6-1) - He's stretching out in distance after breaking his maiden going 7 furlongs at Saratoga for a $20,000 price tag Sept. 2. By far his best effort in eleven starts, his stalking style fits and he's a threat at a square price.
3rd pick: #3 (Legion Storm) (8-1) - State bred broke his maiden here Sept. 7 traveling 7 furlongs for a $25K tag. Much improved since late May, he ad finished second in three of his previous four attempts and runs today off a claim by Jim Ryerson, three for his last 11 off the transaction.
4th pick: #6 (Jerome Avenue) (4-1) - Grey gelding moves up a bit after checking in 3rd of 8, beaten 2.5 lengths going 9 furlongs at Saratoga for a $30,000 Sept. 2 in a contest that was taken 'off the turf'. It was his first ever on the dirt, a positive effort, and he must be left in the mix.
