Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #1 (MUBARMAJ) (2-1) - A $375,000 son of 'Curlin', he had an extremely wide trip when finishing third of 11, beaten just under 4 lengths debuting in a 6.5 furlong Saratoga sprint Aug. 3. Trainer Chad Brown 29% second time out, has him working fast and is stretching him out in distance (34%). I give this colt a slim edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Spice Road) (8-5) - The morning line and probable favorite, he's been competitive in all four attempts and was a 'winner'here going a mile June 20 but was disqualified and placed second. Godolphin bred/owned son of 'Street Sense' worked very fast at Saratoga Aug. 31 and is a strong win candidate and I could have easily made him the top selection.
3rd pick: #4 (Ownitifyouwantit) (6-1) - A NEW gelding, he's moving back to the dirt after a pair of grass starts at Saratoga. He was competitive at this level and distance early this year on the main track at Gulfstream and looks next best in this small group.
