Premium Pick

Top pick: #2 (RAISE THE FLAG) - She's part of an entry trained by "Shug" Mcgaughey and with jockey Kent Desmoreaux listed on both halves, according to New York rules only one can go. It's a poor rule as if you intend on running both halves you must have separate riders listed at the time of entry (usually 3-4 days before). Anyway, this daughter of "Awesome Again" ran a career best when rallying to finish 3rd here at this level going a mile April 29th. Race was her first in 5 months and she should love this 9 furlong trip.

2nd pick: #3 (Evening Garden) - Price play is part of an entry with #3C Comment and they have separate riders listed. She raced evenly in the same last race as "Flag" and as a daughter of "Unbridled's Song she should also like this longer distance. Her entry-mate also has a shot.

3rd pick: #1a (Prissy) - She's also part of an entry and they have separate trainers, but are coupled due to common ownership. Home-bred was away slowly when debuting at Keeneland April 15th and closed strongly to finish 4th. Working fine since, trainer Chad Brown wins at a 24% rate 2nd time out and at a 30% clip when riding Dominguez. Filly is also by "Unbridled" Song"

4th pick: #6 (Down West) - Daughter of the late "Gone West" was bet in both dirt sprints at Gulfstream and showed good early speed in both. Runs today off a two month break and will move to the grass and stretch-out in distance. Her early speed is dangerous in a race with many who like to come from behind.
