Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #2 (BLOWOUT) (5-2) - Filly is one of two entered by Chad Brown and the pair race uncoupled. English bred has gone 6-2-3-1 on the grass and enters after missing by a 'neck' in the G2 Lake Placid Stakes Aug. 17 at Saratoga. Speed/stalker worked fast here on this course Sept. 8 and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #4 (Seek and Destroy) (3-1) - The second of the pair from Chad Brown, this $425,000 daughter of 'Verrazano' has won two of three, both stakes since coming off a just under a seven month layoff May 18. Speedy sort was 3 lengths behind 'Blowout' here at this trip June 22, but then was an easy 3 length winner in a G3 at Woodbine July 20. She should be involved every step and is a win candidate.
3rd pick: #8 (East) (7-2) - A lightly raced English import by 'Frankel', she won her first pair last Fall, and has been in four straight Group 1 or Grade 1 stakes since. Competitive in two of those, she has a flexibly style and a trouble free outside post. In the mix.
4th pick: #5 (Passing Out) (12-1) - Well bred and lightly raced, daughter of 'Orb' is making her stakes debut. Strong finisher defeated weaker at this distance Aug. 9 at Saratoga and will need to step her figure up considerably today to threaten either of the Brown trained fillies. Improving sort would be helped by a fast and/or contested pace.
