He's stretching out in distance and appears to be nearing a competitive effort after coming off a 6.5 month layoff June 8. Has a good shot at a big price.
2nd pick: #12 (For Pops) (7-2) - Speedy sort tired slightly at Saratoga racing at this level going shorter Aug. 25. He has a great outside post at this seven furlong trip and trainer Dave Cannizzo has Jose Ortis aboard for the first time.
3rd pick: #5 (Get Game) (5-1) - Gelding tired following a trouble break when debuting here facing tougher on the dirt July 1. Working steadily, trainer John Terranova moves him to the turf and drops him in class. Barn has positive stats for both of those moves.
4th pick: #11 (Tiz Wicked) (9-2) - He enters off a career best at Saratoga Aug. 25. Three-year-old rallied to miss by a 'nose' in a contest where he defeated several of today's foes. A contender if he can handle this longer distance.
5th pick: #8 (Source Control) (8-1) - Even-paced type finished second here at this tag July 16 then had a troubled break and a wide trip Aug. 12 at Saratoga. Working steadily since, trainer Rudy Rodriguez has Irad Ortiz Jr. back aboard after a one race absence.
