(# 6) VICTORIOUS AFFAIR - My reasoning for this selection is that I believe that Gold Shamrock and Jack's Away, both of whom are sure to take the bulk of the wagering support, have already peaked. Victorious Affair ran a credible race in his career debut, finishing third while racing a bit wide. He disputed a fast early pace and held well until mid-stretch. He should have gained beneficial conditioning and experience from that effort, and today he adds blinkers for his second career start. The best work on his tab was from the gate on March 1, which could very well have come with the hood on. His dam won five sprint races, and had a win and a third on wet tracks.
