(# 3) Story Line - Had to overcome an extreme outside post off of a layoff on the drop on Jan. 28. Was well-handled on the front end and then gave ground grudgingly late. Appears to own a tactical advantage over this field, as he gives the appearance that he can rate a bit, at least on paper. Draws a much better post and should obviously be much more fit in his second race back for Gyarmati, who does not excel with layoff runners.

(# 7) Res Ipsa - Made a strong move on the turn Jan. 28, to challenge the top pick for the lead, but failed to sustain that rally off the layoff. Hardly ever runs two good races back-to-back, and the fact he comes from a very cold barn is not a plus.

(# 2) Bonus Size - Ran credibly on Jan. 24, but now drops to $15,000 level. Barn used the sprint to route move to set-up that effort, so a much improved race is possible going to a hot jock breaking from the rail. Has been win less a long time.
