2nd pick: #7 (Hot Mesa) (2-1) - He's been competitive in six straight at this $20K tag and was 1.5 lengths in front of 'Hot Sriracha' here at this distance Nov. 22. Last out he rallied from close range to finish 2nd Dec. 13, and this 3yo gelding is an obvious contender.
3rd pick: #6 (Back of the Watch) (6-1) - Lightly raced 3yo tired badly here facing $25K fellow New York breds Nov. 17. It was his first off a claim, and he had been much sharper in his previous start. Originally purchased for $100K, I think he'll be competitive today at a square price.
