This colt was an impressive first out winner here at this distance April 11 and is brought back quickly for this $100,000 stakes for New York breds. He gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #2 (Belleville Spring) (6-1) - Longshot is very quick from the gate and is working very fast for his first since Feb. 24. He tired while wide last out facing 'open' company, but had gone 4-1-3-0 prior to that. He's a threat on the lead at a big price.
3rd pick: #7 (Retonova) (5-2) - Just like 'A True Giant,' he was an easy winner when debuting here going six furlongs March 17. Stalker draws a fine outside post at this distance and enters of a quick half-mile breeze April 14 at Belmont.
4th pick: #3 (Santo Antonio) (7-2) - The second of the Rodriguez trained pair, he's a maiden facing winners. Home bred finished 2nd when debuting at a mile March 10 and is shortening up in distance for this attempt. Castellano is aboard, and I believe this colt will need a fast and/or contested pace for anything more than a minor award.
