2nd pick: #2 (Menelik) (6-1) - A $550,000 son of 'American Pharoah', he tired late after setting a quick and pressured pace when debuting at Belmont in a 6 furlong grass sprint Oct 20. He breezed a bullet 5 furlongs Nov 15 for Jon Thomas 12 of 40 (30%) 2nd time out in 2018-19.
3rd pick: #1 (Secret Rules) (2-1) - The morning line and probable favorite, he finished second of nine, missing by 2 lengths going 6 furlongs at Belmont Oct. 23. He's faced talented fields in both attempts and is an obvious win candidate at a short price.
4th pick: #3 (Extreme Force) (5-1) - A very large runner for his age, colt has shown some ability in 3 of his 4 starts and this $145K purchase is working fast and has Jose Ortiz aboard for the first time.
