Top pick: #5 (CASTENADA) - He's run well in his last pair of starts and both have come at this level and distance. Speed/stalker goes third back off a long layoff and has a "bullet" drill on Feb. 7. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Hittin the Note) - Gelding by "Read the Footnotes" was off slowly in his debut sprinting here on Jan. 16 and showed some good late foot. He has a pair of excellent works since and he'll be trying two turns for the first time. Win candidate in his second start.
3rd pick: #4 (Sweet Sight) - He showed a lot of improvement last out when he was beaten a "nose" running against $35K foes in his first try at two turns and first race in seven weeks. Steps up in class, but these aren't that much tougher.
