Top pick: #5 (FUZZY'S STORY) - Probable favorite is the main speed of this contest and won easily here at this tag and trip Jan 1. Steady performer has yet to run a bad race since he was claimed last May, and on paper it's his race to win or lose. Dominquez stays put and this gelding will be very tough at a short price.
2nd pick: #2 (Idol Image) - He cuts back in distance after a strong second place finish at this price going a mile last out. Previous effort saw this gelding finish far back of "Fuzzy's Story," but his best races have come at shorter distances. Looks like the main danger.
3rd pick: #4 (Persian Ruler) - Raced wide and evenly here Jan. 1 and was 7 1/2 lengths behind "Fuzzy's Story" at the finish. Race was his first in 7 weeks and he can factor today if he moves forward in his second back off the short break.
