2nd pick: #16 (Lone Pioneer) (4-1) - Another colt by 'Pioneer of the Nile', he rallied to miss by a 'neck' when debuting Oct. 7 at Belmont for a $30K tag. Claimed that afternoon by Bob Diodoro (a 20% angle), he moves him up in class, stretches him out, and adds blinkers. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #1 (Moretti) (7-2) - Debuting colt by 'Medaglia d'Oro' cost $900,000 as a Saratoga yearling back in August of 2017. In steady training at Belmont since Aug. 17, he's in the Pletcher barn (25% first out) and is in the mix if ready.
