Home bred by 'Giant's Causeway' was an impressive maiden winner Feb. 2 at Santa Anita going 8.5 furlongs and defeated a talented barn-mate in 'Longden' that afternoon. Speed/stalker gets a slim edge.
2nd pick: #5 (Enticed) (2-1) - Godolphin bred and owned, he was an easy winner of the G3 Gotham Stakes here going a mile March 10. Competitive in 4-of-5 starts, he moves back to two-turns today but won last fall at Churchill in the G2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes going 8.5 furlongs. An obvious contender.
3rd pick: #9 (Vino Rosso) (9-2) - He ships from Florida where he finished an even fourth in the G2 Tampa Bay Downs Derby March 10. Much sharper in all three previous starts, Pletcher trained colt can factor today if able to avoid a wide trip.
4th pick: #7 (King Zachary) (20-1) - Longshot Was an 8 length maiden winner going 8.5 furlongs at Gulfstream Park March 18. It was only his second back from a 3.5 month layoff and was his first around two-turns. Barn (Dale Romans) reportedly likes this $550,000 son of 'Curlin', but this is a major step up off a maiden win.
