It was his second back following a 15-month layoff, and this speed/stalker is stretching out for this attempt. He gets a slim edge.
2nd pick: #7 (Sandy Lane Kitten) (5-2) - The morning line and probable favorite, he rallied to check in 3rd of nine, missing by just under two lengths racing at this level and distance Oct. 16 at Belmont. One run type has worked twice since and is an obvious contender.
3rd pick: #9 (Lookin At Roses) (7-2) - He's taking a big drop following a troubled effort facing tougher Sept. 12 at Belmont. 3yo had a good spot, but had to jump over a rival that went down in front of him. $170K gelding by 'Lookin At Lucky' has blinkers on, and he worked a very fast half-mile Oct. 26. A win candidate.
4th pick: #5 (Loaded Joe) (20-1) - 'Joe' has some speed and is switching back to the grass after tiring in a sprint facing weaker on a muddy surface Oct. 23. He may hold down a share at a big price if able to get a clear lead in the first half-mile.
5th pick: #10 (Bold Gem) (6-1) - Even paced type has been competitive in three straight and is capable of getting a slice if he can finish a bit stronger during the stretch run.
