He returned from that long absence with a good effort Jan 19, setting the pace and staying gamely into the final furlong in a race he clearly needed. He was claimed that day and ran back Feb 9 while stepping up to this class level. He ran well enough to win many such races, but ran into a winner who won in graded stakes caliber time.
