One good week in Canada does not reset what has been a difficult year. Shane Lowry missed the cut at last year's U.S. Open at Oakmont and won't earn sympathy on that result. But the 2019 Open champion understands links-style wind golf at a level very few players in this field can match. Shinnecock Hills in June, with firm conditions and gusts that shift throughout the round, plays directly to Lowry's strengths in bump-and-run management and creative course-reading. Getting him at slight underdog pricing against a player whose 2026 campaign has been largely forgettable is the right call. Lowry is the bet here.
