Nicolai Højgaard has been the better player all season, with four top-six finishes, a runner-up finish at the Texas Children's Houston Open, and strong marks in putting and scrambling that point to genuine form. But this is his first trip to TPC Southwind and his first FedExCup Playoffs start, a notoriously difficult, second-shot golf course that has chewed up plenty of players seeing it for the first time under postseason pressure. Shane Lowry's season has been a disappointment by his own standards, currently outside the world top 50 for the first time since 2024 and needing to climb the FedExCup board just to keep his year alive past this week. But he's been to this exact test before: a tie for eleventh here in 2021 and top-20 finishes in four of his last ten trips to Southwind, and a major champion with that much big-event scar tissue tends to find another gear when the season is genuinely on the line. Experience at a venue like this is worth real strokes, and Lowry has it in a spot where Højgaard doesn't. Lowry is the right side on the moneyline this week, and I don't expect his season to end quietly.
