Justin Rose vs. Adam Scott

Justin Rose and Adam Scott have taken almost identical paths to East Lake this year without much separating their overall games, but the one place Rose has an edge right now is exactly where Scott has gone cold. Scott's putting has been a problem all season, and it got worse over his last few starts, while Rose's flat stick has actually turned a corner over his last several events after a quieter summer. Scott's ball-striking numbers are a shade better and his history at this course, including a tie for fourth two years ago, is the stronger resume of the two. That's the honest case against this pick. But East Lake's small, firm Bermuda greens punish a bad putting stretch more than almost any course these players see all year, and Rose is rolling it better than Scott is right now, when it matters most. Rose is the play.
