Spieth won the Travelers Championship in 2017 and has been comfortable in Connecticut ever since. His creative scrambling around Pete Dye's tricky green complexes, combined with a driving game that ranks fourth in this field in strokes gained off the tee, gives him the right profile for a course that asks for decision-making as much as pure execution. Rose has been exceptional on approach this season and ranks in the top 10 in the field in that category, but his putter has gone quiet heading into this week. On a course where the greens eventually separate the field on the weekend, a cold flat stick is a real liability. At essentially a coin-flip price, Spieth's course history and the comp-course familiarity he carries give him the edge. Go with Spieth.
