J.J. Spaun vs. Robert MacIntyre

Robert MacIntyre played through what he described as a stabbing pain in his knee just to make it out of the BMW Championship, and he still finished tied for seventh at ten-under, the kind of week that says more about his game than the injury ever will. J.J. Spaun's approach play is a genuine strength and usually enough to hang with almost anyone at a course built on precise iron play, but his putting has been a real liability all season, and his tie for 22nd at BMW was closer to his floor than his ceiling. MacIntyre has now finished inside the top 20 at East Lake in each of his last two trips, a level of consistency Spaun hasn't matched here, and he's doing it as one of the hotter putters on TOUR over his last several starts.
