Doug Ghim vs. Sungjae Im

Doug Ghim's game has quietly been building for weeks, and the numbers back it up: he hasn't finished worse than T31 in his last six starts and has improved his total strokes gained per round in each of his last five. He's driving the ball as well as anyone in this field right now, and combined with elite short-iron play, he ranks near the top of the field in both off-the-tee and tee-to-green strokes gained over the last eight events. Add in that Ghim is a local product from Arlington Heights who has held the lead here in past editions, and this is a course where his game and history line up. Sungjae Im brings a major-winning résumé and past success in Silvis, but the part of his game that travels here is missing right now. He's ranked 112th in the field in strokes gained approach since April, and a player who can't find greens consistently is fighting an uphill week on a course where proximity sets up the birdies.
