The Blazers have yet to win a football game and they are staring at another big defeat on Saturday. This is a team that ranks No. 111 out of 120 teams on offense as they have struggled mightily to produce points. Tulsa likes the up-tempo game, and UAB's offense is simply not going to be able to keep them off the field, or out of the end zone as the Golden Hurricane is putting up 37 points per game at home on the season. Tulsa managed 33 against Oklahoma State and 21 against a rugged Boise State defense, so they will find a lot of room on the field here for their offense to excel. What makes matters worse for the Blazers is that Tulsa has had two weeks to prepare for this game, a situation where they have been extremely potent in having gone 9-1 ATS in their last 10 after a bye week. The Blazers are not answering the bell in conference play of late at just 1-5 ATS in their last six, while Tulsa has grabbed the money in seven of their last eight vs. conference foes. Play on Tulsa in this one.

Pro Picks
Tulsa at UAB
The Blazers offense was very inconsistent last year, and this season enter with a new, unproven QB. The good news is the defense, very inexperienced last year, returns nine starters. Tulsa had a new head coach last season. Rather than fold, they went on to win 10 games via a high-powered offense. Todd Graham worked with the players of his predecessor. But, this guy was a defensive coordinator and you can expect the Golden Hurricane to shift under him to more of a defensive-minded coach, starting this year. The high-scoring Hurricane offense returns eight starters, but they lost the most pivotal - QB Paul Smith (CUSA offensive player of the year). He threw for over 5,000 yards and 47 touchdowns and that will be very hard to replace. This total is set based on last year's Tulsa offense (which won't be as potent early this year) and their defense (which will be better in 2008). It's too high, given things have changed, and we will ride the UNDER here.
