Texas State Bobcats vs Wyoming Cowboys Point Spread Picks

Wyoming won its final four games last season when mobile freshman QB Sean Chambers stepped in. They kept the good vibes going last week in a 37-31 upset of Missouri, rushing for 297 yards behind a pair of 100-yard rushers in RB Xazavian Valladay (118 yards) and Chambers (120). The defense allowed 2.7 yards per carry and forced three turnovers. Wyoming is 9-3 ATS after a spread cover, plus 6-2 ATS against losing teams. They head to Texas State, off a 3-9 campaign. Texas State got blasted by Texas A&M of the SEC last week, 41-7, allowing 246 yards rushing, 6.8 yards per carry. The Texas State Bobcats covered against Colorado of the Pac 12 (it was 14-0 at the half). Texas State can run the football, which chews up yards and the clock behind RBs Anthony Taylor and Robert Brown, plus mobile QB Damian Williams (112 yards rushing, 646 yards passing). They ran for 156 yards against Colorado and the defense allowed 91 yards rushing to the Buffaloes at just 2.2 yards per carry. They also played a close one against Appalachian State, holding the Mountaineers to 29 total yards and three three-and-outs after their first five possessions. Texas State is on a 9-1 run UNDER the total. The Wyoming Cowboys have already played a pair of step-up games, losing at Iowa (24-3) and at home to Oregon (49-13). Wyoming needed OT to top Hawaii last week, 28-21. QB Josh Allen (3 TDs, 3 picks) was highly heralded coming into the season, but he threw too many interceptions last season and has been erratic in 2017. Allen was just 9-of-19 for 92 yards against Hawaii with the team 4-of-12 on third down.
