Texas St. is 4-2 on the season, but the Bobcats have done a lot of self-destruction so far. They have a poor defense and have been dependent on the offense to carry the team. The offense has no problem moving the ball, but holding onto it is another story. The Bobcats have turned the ball over eight times in their last three games. LA Monroe has been a ball-hawking team. They turned Army over five times and Appalachian St. over four times. I think the line in this game is fair, but the edge goes to UL Monroe as a large dog that gets turnovers and now facing a turnover-prone offense. I think it will be hard for Texas St. to get margin in this game, and I'm going with UL Monroe.

UL Monroe had won two straight, first as a 32.5-point underdog against Liberty and then as a 13.5-point dog versus South Alabama. Texas State is having another bad year after going 6-26 the previous four seasons. The Bobcats have lost three in a row, including a 45-0 blowout at UL Lafayette on Saturday. Tyler Vitt threw for only 42 yards on 6 of 13 with no touchdowns and an interception, and he was the leading rusher with 94 yards on 15 carries against the Ragin' Cajuns. This is another revenge game for the Warhawks, who lost last year's meeting, 38-17.
