Texas Longhorns vs USC Trojans Point Spread Picks

Texas heads out on the road with quarterback concerns, and on a 10-4 run UNDER the total away. In two games Texas has already used three quarterbacks. Jerrod Heard moved to wide receiver in the offseason, but a shoulder injury to Week 1 starter Shane Buechele forced Heard to step back behind center. Buechele's shoulder isn't 100 percent this week. Backup QB Sam Ehlinger has seen time and may start against USC. Texas is 19-7 UNDER the total against winning teams, plus 28-11 UNDER after accumulating 200+ yards rushing in its previous game. Texas likes to run, but the USC defense is led by linebacker Cameron Smith and is strong against the run. Trojan quarterback Sam Darnold was a Heisman Trophy favorite but may have been reading more of his press clippings than opposing defenses with four interceptions in two games. USC has a dynamite ground attack behind Ronald Jones II and Stephen Carr that can chew up yards and the clock. USC's defense held Stanford in check last week in a win and a cover, and the Trojans are 9-3 UNDER the total following a spread cover.
