Stonehill at Massachusetts

Massachusetts has been one of the more productive offenses in the FCS-to-FBS gap through two games, averaging 37 points and already putting 37 on an FBS opponent in Rutgers, a game where the Minutemen also gave up 21 points. That defense hasn't shown it can lock anybody down, and Stonehill brings an offense that has scored at least 21 points in every game it's played this season, including 35 last week against New Hampshire. A UMass team already averaging enough points to get most of the way to that total doesn't need much help, and Stonehill has shown enough scoring punch of its own, even in a losing effort, to finish the job. UMass is a big enough favorite here that its coaching staff has no reason to play things close to the vest, and against a defense that's already given up points to an overmatched Sacred Heart team, there's little reason to expect this one to turn into a defensive struggle. Play the OVER, and don't expect it to need a final push to get there.
