Robert Morris at Akron

Akron trotted a redshirt freshman out for the first start of his career last week and still found a way to hang 16 points on Wake Forest, with the offense waking up late as Brayden Roggow came off the bench and went a perfect 7-for-7 with two touchdown passes. That game finished at 54 total points, and it came against a legitimate ACC defense. Robert Morris is not that. The Colonials are 2-0 this year, but it's misleading, having piled up 28 on Wagner and 29 on West Virginia State, so this isn't a program that just falls over and takes a beating. Their offense moves the chains against overmatched competition, and Akron's defense is rebuilding its front seven after losing three of its top four pass rushers to the portal this offseason. That's the mismatch my read leans on here. Akron gets to work out its own offensive kinks against a defense several tiers below Wake Forest, at home, while Robert Morris brings a unit that has already shown it can put points on the board. Both sides have reasons to score, and neither has shown much that stops anybody yet. The number is too low for what both offenses have flashed through two weeks, and we're loading up on the total this afternoon. Take the OVER.
