Georgia Tech's defense has now given up 29.5 points a game across two losses to open the year, and that number matters more than a rough final line at FCS Mercer, whose own offense turned in a clunker with four interceptions against Furman last week. Different opponent, different problem. Mercer is still averaging north of 32 points a game, and a Georgia Tech defense that let both Colorado and Tennessee move the ball at will isn't the unit to suddenly clean things up against a step down in competition. I had Georgia Tech's total UNDER two weeks ago in a 13-14 nail-biter against Colorado, but both offenses were still finding their footing on a true road opener. This is a different shape entirely: a home favorite with a shaky defense against an FCS opponent that can still move the ball even when it isn't clicking. The heavier money is already backing the total over the ticket count, and Georgia Tech quarterback Alberto Mendoza's turnover issues mean short fields are part of the equation too. Grab the OVER.
