Coastal Carolina at Delaware

Coastal Carolina and Delaware both put up gaudy scoring numbers through two weeks, averaging better than 34 points a game apiece, but look at who supplied the tackling dummies. The Chanticleers hung 45 on Fordham and Delaware put up 42 on Merrimack, two of the softer defenses either side will see all year. Today those offenses face each other instead, and that's a different problem entirely. Coastal Carolina is breaking in an entirely new staff under Ryan Beard, hired away from Missouri State with his whole coordinator group in tow, the kind of setup that still shows rust in September even when the results look fine on paper. Delaware's defense has forced takeaways at a healthy rate, and Coastal Carolina's unit already carries a positive turnover margin. I had Delaware's total OVER two weeks ago, and it stayed well under a big number in a 42-7 laugher, and I'm not fighting that same shape twice. Two offenses that padded their numbers against overmatched competition don't automatically repeat it against each other. I'm on the UNDER.
