Army's option attack doesn't need to score fast to score often, and that distinction matters against a Bryant defense that allowed over 30 points a game in a 3-9 season last year. Jeff Monken's offense grinds out long, methodical drives, but against a unit that couldn't get stops against its own level of competition, those drives are more likely to end in touchdowns than punts. Army's own defense wasn't a shutdown group either last season, allowing better than 22 points a game, which leaves a real lane for Bryant's offense, itself capable of over 22 points a game a year ago, to put some points on the board rather than getting shut out entirely. This is also a true season opener for both sides, and a run-control team like Army tends to lean even harder on its bread and butter early in the year before the game plan gets more complex, and that identity doesn't need to be efficient against this defense to produce points, just repeatable. Two sides that can both move the ball against a defense with real holes give this total plenty of room to climb. Back the OVER.
