San Jose State can present some problems for Oregon State. The Spartans have a pair of dynamic offensive playmakers, affording them balance that makes them tough to defend. QB Joe Gray has completed 71% of his passes at 9 yards per attempt, and RB Tyler Irvin has pounded the rock for nearly 8 yards a tote. The Beavers opened at home with an offensively lackluster performance vs. Weber State where they scored just 26 points. They then went to Michigan where they were almost shutout, scoring just 7 points. Oregon State is going to struggle until freshman QB Seth Collins gets things figured out. The Beavers attack in the second half last week saw a net of four yards of offense and just one first down. The fact that this team has a date with Stanford in their next game is not going to have them focused. San Jose State has enough skill players to keep them in the game here as a better than a TD dog.
