It's tough to trust this Virginia Tech offense on the road with a new QB. QB Michael Brewer is in as the new starter on an offense that ranked #101 in the nation in points last year, as well as #109 in rushing and #61 in passing. Virginia Tech is off a win as the new QB threw one pick against William & Mary -now he heads out on the road to a Big-10 school. The Hokies are 7-19 ATS when following a win and 2-11 ATS in their last 13 road games. Ohio State is loaded on both sides of the ball. Even though they lost their star QB, Urban Meyer likes freshman T.J. Barrett, who jumped ahead of a sophomore QB. And he did well last week against Navy. He's not alone, either as sophomore RB Ezekiel Elliott (262 yards, 8.7 yards per carry) and RB Dontre Wilson (250 yds, 8.1 ypc) each averaged over 8 yards per carry last season. The Ohio State defense allowed 22.6 points per game last year (#28 in the nation) but Meyer didn't rest on it, knowing he had some problems defending the pass and he made some impressive adjustments, bringing in Chris Ash to coordinate the defense with Luke Fickell, while Larry Johnson comes to Ohio State from Penn State to coach the defensive line. That defense held a difficult to defend Navy team to just 17 points last week. The Buckeyes are 25-9-2 ATS in their last 36 games after allowing fewer than 20 points in their previous game. Ohio State is also 4-0-1 ATS in September and 4-1 ATS in their last five non-conference games. And the last three years Virginia Tech has been money-burners at 11-24-2 ATS. Lay the bundle on Ohio State.
