Ryan Day suffered his first regular-season loss last week to Oregon. Ohio State won the yardage battle but failed to control the line of scrimmage where they lost the rushing battle 269-128. I'm sure practices this week have been intense, and this might be the worst time for Tulsa to come to Ohio State. I think that loss, combined with a strong effort last week by Tulsa vs Oklahoma State has capped this line and it should be more. Please remember it is just one game. The Buckeyes lost a September game in 2014 and went out the next week and won 66-0, on their way to running the table and a National Championship. The margin for error is all but gone, but a team that just put up 612 yards certainly has the weapons to do what they want. Tulsa is off a physical game, and their lack of depth will be exposed here. Make the play on Ohio State.

Pro Picks
Tulsa at Ohio State
The linemakers have posted a huge total for this matchup as they expect an overreaction from last week's results when Ohio State lit up Bowling Green for 77 points, and Tulsa beat San Jose State 45-10. Ohio State has gone UNDER in six of its last seven after a win of 20-plus points and 10 of its last 12 after any win. The Hurricane figures to improve on defense as it returns seven starters, including its two leading tacklers in linebackers Matt Linscott and Trent Martin. Tulsa held San Jose State to 53 net yards rushing on 1.7 yards per carry and the Spartans recorded only 287 yards total offense. Tulsa quarterback Dane Evans was 12-of-23 for 198 yards and a touchdown. Ohio State's defense held the Falcons to 69 net yards rushing and 2.5 yards per rush, and 175 passing yards and 16 first downs. The Buckeyes return only three starters on defense but, as usual, they have no trouble recruiting tremendous talent to replace them. The Buckeyes also return only three on offense and they went UNDER five of their last six regular season games in 2015 and they could be looking ahead to their big game next week at Oklahoma. Look for this matchup to stay UNDER the inflated total.
