Northwestern Wildcats vs UTEP Miners Point Spread Picks

UTEP bounced back with a 28-14 win over FCS Incarnate Word and though that doesn't seem like much, the Miners needed a victory after losing to Jacksonville State the week before and the Gamecocks are in their first FBS season. The Miners did most of their damage on the ground as Deion Hankins ran for 174 yards on 7.3 yards per carry and Torrance Burgess Jr. and Mike Franklin each scored a touchdown. Gavin Hardison threw only 13 times and completed 10 with two TDs. UTEP had 329 rushing yards and held the Cardinals to just 65 yards on the ground. Northwestern is 0-4 ATS its past four September games after losing 24-7 to Rutgers and the Wildcats appear to be no better than their 1-11 season a year ago and they now are 4-21 straight up and 8-15 ATS since 2021. Ben Bryant was only 20 of 36 for 169 yards with two interceptions and no TDs against the Scarlet Knights and the Wildcats rushed for a net 12 yards. UTEP will use a lot of clock running the ball and the Miners are 6-0 UNDER their past six September games and 5-0 UNDER as favorites of 0.5-3.0 points. Northwestern has stayed UNDER four of its past five and UTEP five of seven. Take UTEP, and make it a Max Play on the UNDER.
