North Carolina A&T comes off a one-win season and looks just as bad on defense. They opened last season losing to UAB giving up 458 yards. They open the new season against an FBS team with a lot of veterans that took a bruising during a 4-8 campaign. Wake Forest ran for 1,565 yards and returns top running back Demond Claiborne. Some great news is the quarterback situation looks much improved with the arrival of Hank Bachmeier. He threw for over 300 yards against FIU (333), Liberty (304), and Sam Houston (384) last year while with Louisiana Tech. Bachmeier and Michael Kern (647 yards in 2023) will see action in this one, both sixth-year college QBs. The Demon Deacons have a strong offensive line and a capable receiving corps, though the defense has an inexperienced secondary.
