If New Mexico State does not win five games or more this season, it will be their 12th straight without doing so. They have four to go to get there, and I don't see it happening. It will be a taller task this week as RB Larry Rose may be out, or at least limited, after injuring his groin. UL Lafayette is facing even more problems on offense, as their top two offensive players QB Anthony Jennings and RB Elijah McGuire were both banged up in their last contest, but appear to be at least healthy enough to give it a go. That is a lot of potential offense from a pair of low-level FBS teams without a lot of depth. Since 1994, UL Lafayette has won nine games four times, all in consecutive seasons, but otherwise has not had even a single winning season. This looks like a game of chess, more than a shootout with each side trying to limit hits on injured key offensive players. This one stays UNDER.

Pro Picks
UL Lafayette at New Mexico State
Yes, the Aggies are again a doormat this season. After two early upset wins to start their season, New Mexico State has dropped seven in a row. But, this line is just too much. Lafayette has already lost a game this season outright when favored by over two touchdowns (lost 20-48 to Louisiana Tech as a 15.5 point favorite). And, in games where they are laying more than a touchdown, the Cajuns are just 1-2 against the number this season. On the year, this team is managing just 19.3 points per game on the road, so asking them to win this game by over 17 points is just asking too much. The Rajun Cajuns are winless ATS in six tries the past two seasons vs. losing teams. Back the Aggies plus the points.
