UAB has faced Troy in their last three season openers. After losing twice, the Blazers broke through this season. Troy will struggle, and unfortunately so will UAB. Mississippi State has one of their best teams this decade, and could compete at a high level in the rugged SEC. Speaking of Troy, this same Miss St. team beat them 62-7 last season while UAB was losing to them, so as much as UAB might have improved, so has Miss State. This will be the third straight year that UAB has followed the Troy game with an SEC school and if the first two are any indication of the difference in levels, then UAB is in big trouble. They followed losses to Troy with two losses by a combined 82 points the last two years, and this one looks to be headed in that same direction. Miss State hasn't been on an elite level as they could possibly be this year, so there is little chance for a letdown. The Blazers' road woes have left them at 0-6 ATS in their last six, while the Bulldogs are looking to add to a 6-0 ATS mark in their last six and I like their chances here. Lay the bundle and play on Miss State.
