Minnesota Golden Gophers vs New Mexico State Aggies Point Spread Picks

New Mexico State has a game under its belt, but it certainly was revealing and not very pretty. The Aggies were expected to be a pretty good defensive team and they did reasonably well vs. Wyoming, but the offense was a complete no show, and exposed a team with a lot of work to do on that side of the ball. The Aggies generated fewer than 100 yards of offense, until the last drive vs. mostly non-starters. They could not run the ball at all. They ran the ball for a total of nine yards, and generated a paltry seven first downs. Minnesota could not slow down the elite teams on their schedule allowing Michigan State, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Northwestern, all 30 points or more. But in their other eight games the Golden Gophers allowed fewer than 18 points per game. The problem is and will be a sluggish offense that managed just 21.8 ppg. The offense scored 10 points or less in four of the last five, including shutouts in their last two. Both of these teams have severe offensive issues, while the defenses are well equipped to handle those subpar offensive attacks. This one stays UNDER.
