However, the Spartans still have obvious deficiences as they are #110 in total yards of offense and #105 in yards allowed. Also, Michigan State is #103 in passing yards allowed as its secondary hasn't improved much from last year. The Spartans are just 2-5 ATS their past seven games and Rutgers two years ago beat MSU 38-27 before the Spartans avenged that loss in 2021. The Scarlet Knights have struggled playing a tough conference schedule so far, but Michigan State is a team they can hang with after they were predictably blown out by undefeated Michigan on Saturday after leading 17-14 at the half.
