Miami Florida Hurricanes vs S. Miss Golden Eagles Point Spread Picks

Southern Miss had high hopes coming into the season after a miserable 3-9 record last year, but the Golden Eagles already are off to a bad start losing in triple overtime 29-27 to Liberty last week. To make matters worse, QB Ty Keyes was knocked out of the game late in the second quarter on a targeting penalty by safety Robert Rahimi. Trey Lowe replaced him and threw only one pass as the Golden Eagles went to a form of wildcat offense. Keyes is questionable this week. Miami has a new coach in Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes got off to a rousing start by destroying FCS Bethune-Cookman 70-13 while totaling 586 yards of offense with an average of nine yards per play. Tyler Van Dyke completed 13 of 16 for 193 yards and two TDs and backup Jake Garcia finished 7 of 7 for 88 yards and neither threw an interception. Henry Parrish rushed for 108 yards on only 14 carries as the Hurricanes won their sixth in the past seven games dating to last season and they have covered six of their past eight. Southern Miss is 2-8 ATS its last 10 September games and the Golden Eagles will have a lot less in the tank after playing triple OT compared to the Hurricanes, who cruised last week.
