Utah State came on strong following a slow start and won five of its last seven games although it did lose to Boise State in the season finale. Conversely, Memphis lost five of its last seven games to limp into the bowl season. The Aggies got a major break when star running back, Calvin Tyler Jr., apparently changed his mind and will play after reportedly opting-out. Tyler ran for 1,044 yards on 4.4 per carry and seven touchdowns. Cooper Legas will likely start at quarterback after appearing in nine games and completing 61.2 percent for 1,465 yards and 11 TDs. Memphis did not have many wins against quality opponents and suffered a monumental breakdown against Houston and lost 33-32. The Tigers are 2-9 ATS their past 11 December games and 1-5 ATS their past six bowl games and 9-14 ATS overall the last two seasons. Memphis QB Seth Henigan threw for 3,287 yards and 19 TDs with eight interceptions, but the Tigers lost running back Brandon Thomas for the season in mid-November and they went UNDER their last three games.
