Maryland Terrapins vs Texas Longhorns

Maryland's football program is in all kinds of trouble following the death of a player in practice and coach DJ Durkin has been placed on leave pending an investigation. To say there are distractions is an understatement and the team already had its problems on the playing field. Its top wide receiver DJ Moore left for the NFL and a defense that returns only five starters from a squad that allowed 37 points per game last season. These teams met last year and Maryland won 51-41 on the road making this a revenge situation for the Longhorns, who finished 7-6 under new coach Tom Herman, which was a two-game improvement from the previous year. Five of Texas's losses were by 10 or fewer points and it was a young team that gained valuable experience. The Longhorns return 13 starters, including Sam Ehlinger, who is the probable starting quarterback although Shane Buechele is still in the running. Following the Maryland loss, Texas went on to cover the spread the next seven games and finished the season 9-4 ATS. The game is being played in Landover and the Longhorns are 4-0 ATS their last four neutral-site games while the Terrapins are 1-4 ATS in the same situation.
