Marshall Thundering Herd vs Navy Midshipmen Point Spread Picks

The Navy has a 3-7 season a year ago, and it was a rare poor performance of a Navy team under coach Ken Niumatalolo. I would be looking for an under-the-radar Navy team to kick it up a couple of notches this season. The defense started clicking late last season with each of the Navy's final three opponents failing to score 20 points. Freshman QB Xavier Arline took the starting role in the final two games and showed promise, and he should have a much better grasp of the triple-option this season. Marshall had a big season a year ago, but the entire system will be changing. New coach Charles Huff is going to go with a high octane fast offense. The problem is it may take a few games to get everything going. Navy will limit opportunities with their near 100% running attack, and Marshall which had a great defense a year ago has to replace the key cogs in that defense. There is just 1 holdover on the coaching staff and a lot of new stuff to learn. If this game was later in the season I may have a different opinion, but in-game one the edge goes to Navy.
