Louisiana Tech Bulldogs vs NC State Wolfpack Point Spread Picks

Louisiana Tech did a great job defensively vs. Nichols St. in their opener. They held the Colonels to 62 rushing yards on 37 attempts and stopped the passing game as well, allowing just 138 yards on 26 attempts. It at least gives them hope they can compete against the NC State offense. NC State was destroyed last week on a nuetral field, losing to Tennessee 51-10. The Vols have now given up just 13 points in two games, and I'm not sure this mediocre Louisiana offense can even score. The defense looks good enough to at least get a few stops, and combine that with the Wolfpack playing a lot of bench players for most of the second half, I think this is a game with defense having the edge. Make the play UNDER the total.

After playing three in a row at home, Louisiana Tech heads out on the road for this one. In their only road game, they gave up 35 points and 370 yards passing in a loss at Mississippi State, despite the Bulldogs turning it over four times. La Tech is dealing with a slew of injured quarterbacks with J.D. Head and Luke Anthony both out, and Austin Kendall missed last week's game and is questionable. Sophomore QB Aaron Allen (0 TDs, 0 INTs) was forced to start as the offense had 286 total yards (81 rushing yards) in a 24-17 win over North Texas as a 9-point favorite. NC State is in the Top 25 after knocking off Clemson, 27-21. The win puts them in a great position for a shot at an ACC title. QB Devin Leary (10 TDs, 2 INTs) connected on 32 of 44 passes against Clemson as NC State had a whopping time of possession edge of 41:48 to 18:12.
